Creation Story

Day 1: space, time, earth

Day 2: sky and sea

Day 3: land and planets

Day 4: sun, stars, moon and planets

Day 5: air and sea creatures

Day 6: land creatures and humans

Day 7: day of rest

"Yowm" in hebrew means day. Some Jews and Christians believe it means "period of time" which proves scientific theories that the world was creation of billions of years

Astronomers: scientists who study the stars

Athiests: people who don't believe in God

The Big Bang: a secular view of the origin of the universe

Evolution: A secular theory for the development of life on earth

Secularism: the belief hat parts of life should be organised separately from religion

Natural selection: a process where animals best suited to their environment survive

Christian stewards:

Protect its beauty and ensure safety

Greenpeace

WWF

Friends of the earth

Evidence that we are stewards:

"let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air"

Jewish Stewards:

Jewish national fund

Charity to support Isreal

Main aim is to supply clean water and develop land

Money raised to plant trees, clean water introduce recycling systems and build roads, houses and health care centres

Jewish homes have a PUSHKE (donation box)

Humans and Animals:

Similarities: Differences:

-all evolved -animals cannot clearly communicate

-all created by God -humans are more intelligent

-or natural selection -humans have technology

-both feel pain -humans have a more complex language

-live in groups -humans have more sense of morality

-environments -humans have a soul

-share 99% of DNA

-feeling and emotion

Christian view:

-Humans were created in the image of God

-Humans possess nature of God

-Humans have an eternal soul

Humanity:

Showing care and compassion for others. Caring for people who need it most

WW1- humanity failed as a certain race was discriminated and treated unfairly

Civil war- innocent, civilian children suffered

Twin towers attack- people and loved ones suffered due to careless acts of others, deliberate act to inflict pain
