• Method 1: ID CARD SYSTEM
• 1. issue student with ID card
• Magnetic stripe:
• school name, student name, d.o.b, UNIQUE ID NUMBER
• 2. arrive school, swipe in MAGNETIC CARD READER.
• (identify student and time/date enter school)
• 3. Data stored on a database.
• 4. leave school, swipe
• (record leaving time/date)
• Method 2
• 1. Fingerprints taken
• 2. personal details (like on magnetic stripe) stored on a database
• 3. arrive school, put hand on scanner; scanner read fingerprints
• *date/time of entering, leaving school would be accurately recorded on the database
• *school premises
• advantages:
• Fingerprints unique. Improved security.
• ID cards lost
• ID cards affected by MAGNETIC FIELDS
• Easier to 'clone' make copies of ID cards
