1Serial data transmission is when single [blank_start]bits[blank_end] are sent one after another along a [blank_start]wire[blank_end].
- Abits
- Bwire
2The smaller the bandwidth of the transmission system, the higher the bit rate that can be transmitted over that system.
- ARichtig
- BFalsch
3Baseband differs to broadband because...
- ABroadband has a much slower transmission speed than baseband.
- BBaseband uses a special bit called a start bit to signal the arrival of data.
- CBaseband only uses a single data channel for which the whole bandwidth is dedicated to.
4The [blank_start]handshaking[blank_end] protocol:
The sending and receiving devices exchange [blank_start]signals[blank_end] to establish that the receiving device is connected and ready to receive.
The sending device coordinates the sending of the [blank_start]data[blank_end], informing the receiver that it is sending.
The [blank_start]receiver[blank_end] then indicates it has received the data and is ready to receive again.- Ahandshaking
- Binternet protocol
- Cfile transfer
- Dphone numbers
- Esignals
- Fparity bits
- Gdata
- Hstop bit
- IIP address
- Jrouter
- Ksender
- Lreceiver
5In asynchronous data transmission...
- AThe receiver is kept synchronised with the receiver.
- BBits are sent along a single wire.
- CThe receiver is synchronised with the transmitter only at the time of transmission.
6In even parity, the parity bit is sent to 1 or 0 so that the number of 0s across data bits and parity bit is an even number.
- ARichtig
- BFalsch
