Temperature

• Normal Values - 36.1°-37.5°
• Factors influencing body temperature in relation to child birth;
• - Pregnancy Maternal (Childbearing women have to work harder to combat excess heat production, as a result maternal temperature can increase by +0.5°)
• - Pregnancy fetal (Fetal temperature is generally approximately 0.5° higher than maternal temperature)
• - An increase in temperature during labour can indicate infection, dehydration or increased muscular activity due to uterine contractions
