Types of Data

• qualitative: non-numerical data
• quantitative: numerical data ( discrete = counted, continuous = measured)
• bivariate: 2 things that can vary (e.g. height and weight). They can be shown by scatter graphs
• categorical: data that can be put into a particular category
• ranked: data can be ordered
