Repeatability An experiment is repeatable when the same person repeats it using the same equipment and gets results that are close together.
Reproducibility An experiment is reproducible when it is carried out by different people using different equipment and the results are close together.
Systematic Error This happens when there is a problem with the apparatus (e.g. incorrect calibration), so the results are precise (close together) but not accurate.
Reliability This is assessed by comparing an individual result with a reference value or with a mean of a large number of results. The reliability of an experiment is increased by repeating and reproducing the results.
