Process 1. How we evaluate patient/client (areas); then decide on treatment to implement 2 "Occupational profile" - who person is, their history, roles, values, etc. 3. Following Eval, OT puts together observations against backdrop of 4 areas of Domain (occupations, client factors, performance patterns, context & environment) to develop most appropriate intervention
We Evaluate: Performance Skills 1. Motor - ROM, strength, fine motor skills, bilateral skills, coordination, & balance 2. Process - sensory/cognitive skills such as attention, memory, judgment, etc. 3. Social Interaction Skills - appropriate w/others, body language, emotions, etc.
Treatment Intervention: Based on "Clinical Reasoning" 1. Required skills, multiple demands, & significance to client 2. Understand interrelationship between domains & how impede/support client 3. How domains support client centered focus 4. Takes into consideration Modes & Theory that guide OT practice
