Frage Antworten
what do enzymes do? Enzymes speed up specific chemical reactions
what is the lock and key model? the lock and key model is when the enzyme's active site is rigid and the substrate fits into it.
what is induced fit? Induced fit is when the enzyme's active site slightly shapes around the substrate for a prefect fit.
how does temperature effect the enzyme reaction rate? As the temperature increases the reaction rate increases until optimum temperature is reached. once exceeded optimum temperature the enzymes denature and the reaction rate decreases.
what is denature? Denature is when the weak hydrogen bonds of the enzymes active site break. Resulting in the substrate and enzyme unable to bind
How does enzyme concentration affect the reaction rate? As the enzyme concentration increases the reaction rate increases
How does substrate concentration affect reaction rate? As the substrate concentration increases so does the reaction rate until the saturation point is reached and no affect on reaction rate.
