- 1What ELEMENT of ART is the image displaying?LINE
The lines on the left are considered "Actual lines" while the lines on the right are considered "implied lines."
- 2ORGANIC SHAPESOrganic shapes are defined as shapes that are irregular or asymmetrical in appearance and tend to have a curvy flow to them. Nearly all shapes found in nature are organic in appearance.
- 3GEOMETRIC SHAPEGeometric shapes such as circles, triangles or squares have perfect, uniform measurements and don't often appear in nature.
- 4Primary ColorsPrimary colors include red, blue and yellow. Primary colors cannot be mixed from other colors. They are the source of all other colors.
- 5Secondary Colora color resulting from the mixing of two primary colors.
- 6Tertiary colorTertiary colors are combinations of primary and secondary colors. There are six tertiary colors; red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and red-violet.
- 7Analogous ColorsAnalogous colors are colors that are next to each other on the color wheel.
- 8Complimentary ColorsComplementary colors are the opposite hues on the color wheel.
- 9Tinta TINT is a mixture of a color with white
- 10TONETONE is any pure Hue with Neutral Gray added. The color remains the same only less vibrant.
- 11Huethe pure pigment of a color
- 12ShadeColor Theory defines a True Shade as any pure Hue or mixture of pure colors with only Black added. In other words, it contains absolutely no White or Gray.
