What are some of the ways you can tell a nwew substance is formed? Permanent colour change, Precipitation, change in tempreature and a gas is given off.
Physical change that produce gas? Boiling water.
How do you determine the properties of a substance? By looking at the types of atoms and how they are arranged.
What happens in a chemical change? New substances are formed
Chemical reaction? Process of a substance transforming into another substance
Difference between chemical reaction and change? Chemical change is a change in a substance while reaction is the proces of rearanging atoms.
Combustion? ANy chemical reaction that involves burning
Example of combustion? Hydrogen plus oxygen = water apour
WHat is one of the most useful uses of combustions for humans? Fire
Photosynthesis Chemical reaction where a plant takes sunlight and carbon dioxide and changes it into glucose and oxygen
Respiration? Obtaining energy from food.
Why do we get exhausted after a long exercising session? We are not fit ( and because we are starved of oxygen and glucose making sweating difficult)
Chemical Weathering Gradual breakdown of rocks due to nature
Flammable substances? Hydrogen, Petrol, coal, deodorant etc
Corrosion Chemical reaction that involves air with metals.
