Question Answer
How to sound waves move through the air? Air has particles that are moving in random directions, whenever something emits a sound it vibrates. These vibrations cause the air around it to vibrate too. The vibrating particles move around so they bump into one another transmitting the sound from one place to another.
What is sound? Vibration transmitting sound
What determines the wavelength? The pitch
Another word for wavelength? Frequency
The higher the frequency...? The shorter the wavelength
What is amplitude? The amplitude is measured from the top of the wave to the equilibrium or the straight line going through the center of the wave.
What determines the amplitude? How loud the noise is
Turnover for a diagram.
What are the different parts of the wave? 1. The top part of each wave is called the crest while the lowest is called the trough. 2. The distance from crest to crest is the wave length and the amplitude is measured from the center line (equilibrium position) to the crest.
Turnover for a diagram.
Speed of sound 340 mps (metres per second)
Speed of light 300 millions
What does the electromagnetic spectrum consist of? 1. Gamma Rays 2. X-rays 3. Ultraviolet 4. Visible light 5. infrared 6. Microwave 7. Radio

What is Total internal reflection(TIR)? When prisms are used for reflections instead of mirrors, light can bounce off of the inner surface rather than just the outer. This means that the angle of the reflected light can be more easily adjusted.
