RAM & ROM
  1. RAM stands for Random Access Memory
    1. RAM is a type of data that can be accessed randomly
      1. That means that any byte of memory can be accessed without touching the previous byte
        1. RAM is the most common type if memory found in computers and devices such as Printers.
          1. RAM is a computer storage location that allows data to be accessed quickly from anywhere on the DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory)
            1. The data is accessed Randomly, which allows it to be faster than that of a hard drive.
              1. Unlike ROM, RAM is a volatile memory and required power to be able to access the data. Without power, memory is lost.
              2. ROM stands for Read-only Memory
                1. ROM is a type of built-in memory that can only be read
                  1. It can be only be modified with great difficulty, or not at all.
                    1. Unlike RAM, ROM keeps its data even without power. It is non-volatile.
                      1. An example of ROM is the cartridge used with video game devices; which allows it to run multiple games at the same time.
                        1. The oldest example of a ROM type storage media is dated 1932.
                          1. Today, ROM-type is continued to be improved for better performance and bigger storage-capacity.
