Environmental
1. Desertification - move for better farming land - PUSH
2. Global warming - raises sea level - PUSH if you live at coasts/ low lying areas

Barriers of Migration
1. Potential migrants must overcome a number of real and perceived obstacles before the move is made
2. COST - transportation, buy a house, enough money to sustain themselves until job is secured
3. Severing family and friendship ties
4. Differences in culture and language
5. Laws regarding womans dress e.g. muslim countries
6. International migration : Gov. policies may en/discourage
