energy use  factors affecting energy use now and in the future  things to understand: -pre capita engery consumption varies between different countries -know the main factors that influence it  - its importance in development and quality of life    Economic factors  eg. affluence and the ability to buy engery-using appliances, relative cost of energy and the amount of disposible income availible to pay for it    level and type of industry  Any energy used in industry adds to total used pre capita and total energy used  Heavy industry such as, mining, ore processing and the chemical industry use a lot of energy    Climate  cold climates increase engery use for heating  hot climates increase energy use for air conditioning    Social / environmental awareness  some countries are aware of the need to conserve and the benefits of doing so , eg. Denmark and Sweden  some countries are less aware, normally due to local source or affluence, eg. USA, UK    national and global trends in energy demands  changes in amount and type of industry  many countries the develope primary industries such as mining, also develop secondary industries such as manufacturing which uses less energy. Primary industries may decrease do to energy depletion and competition with other countries cheap labour costs. tertiary industries such as services use much less energy.
