Glycolysis Glycolysis "breaking down of glucose" - In glycolysis a molecule of glucose is degraded in a series of enzyme-catalyzed reactions to yield two molecules of pyruvate. Glycolysis generates two molecules of ATP through substrate-level phosphorylation and two molecules of NADH. The enzymes of glycolysis are in the cytosol. This process is anaerobic (i.e., it does not require O2) Pyruvate (Pájruvéjt) = pyruvic acidAcetyl-CoA (Öszítl-SzíÓÉj)Cytric acid circle = Krebs circle = tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA cycle)
