Introduction to the Academic Word List

The Academic Word List (AWL) is a list of 570 words most frequently found in all or most of the academic disciplines. It was compiled by Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. It is this word list that I use to prepare my students for the TOEFL iBT.
