Resumen del Recurso

Página 1

Consider four resistors R1,R2,R3,R4 connected in parallel.

2. The potential difference through the circuit is same but the current I through the circuit gets split into I1 , I2 , I3, I4 respectively.

4. Applying ohm's law I=V/R we getV/Rp=V/R1+V/R2+V/R3+V/R4V(1/Rp)=V(1/R1+1/R2+1/R3+1/R4)1/Rp=1/R1+1/R2+1/R3+1/R4

Thus when resistors are connected in parallel, the sum of the reciprocal of the individual resistances is equal to the reciprocal of the effective resistance

3. I=I1+I2+I3+I4
