Care ff cardiac surgery

-most kids recover rapidly ff cardiac surgery- back @ nursery/school within 1 month-variable exercise tolerance-kids w/ severe residual aortic stenosis & ventricular dysfunction: restricted exercise advised-follow up in specialist clinics-post surgery, most lead normal lives, but any change in sx e.g. decreasing exercise tolerance, palpitations, needs further ix-more teens & young adults need revision of surgery done in early life. This is due to replacement of artificial valves (often) and relief of post-surgical suture stenosis e.g. re-coarctation or pul a stenosis
