What is the function of a vaccine?	To make you immune to a disease w/out having to catch it first.
What does a vaccine contain?	dead/inactive pathogens. Sometimes just parts of pathogens are used.
How do vaccines work?	1. The vaccine enters the blood 2. 1 type of white blood cell makes antibodies against the present pathogen's antigens. 3. The pathogens are destroyed 4. Memory cells stay in the blood, creating immunity.
Why can't some people be vaccinated?	Because they are allergic to something in the vaccine, or their immune system does not function property.
What is herd immunity?	When a high % of people are vaccinated, helping reduce the rate of the spread of disease.
Why aren't vaccines compulsory?	Because people believe people should have the right to chose.
