  1. 1THRUSTThe forward force produced by the power plant/ propellers/ rotors. It opposes or overrides the force of drag.
  2. 2LIFTThe upward force produced by the interaction of the relative wind, against the airfoil of the aircraft's wings.
  3. 3DRAGThe backward force working against the aircraft in motion, due to the relative wind working against any protruding objects on the surface of the aircraft.
  4. 4WEIGHTThe downward force produced by the weight of the aircraft, the passengers, crew, and it's cargo.
  5. 5ROLLThe movement along the aircraft's longitudinal axis. Produced by the ailerons.
  6. 6PITCHThe movement along an aircraft's lateral axis. Produced by the elevators.
  7. 7YAWThe movement along an aircraft's vertical axis. produced by the rudder.
  8. 8FUSELAGEThe central body of an aircraft, designed to accommodate the crew, passengers, and cargo. Also provides the structural connection between the wings and tail assembly.
  9. 9WINGSThe wings are the main airfoils attached to each side of the fuselage, and are the main lifting surfaces that support an aircraft in flight.
  10. 10EMPENAGEThe entire tail group of the aircraft. The empenage's main support structures are the vertical and horizontal stabilizers. The subcomponents of the empenage are the rudders, elevators, and trim tabs
  11. 11LANDING GEARThe principle support of the aircraft during landing, take-off, and taxiing. The main types of landing gear are wheels. other types acceptable landing gear are floats for water operations, and skis for in the snow.
  12. 12POWER PLANTUsually includes both the engine and its propellers. The primary function of the engine is to turn the propellers.
  13. 13PARASITE DRAGParasite drag is comprised of all the forces that work to slow an aircraft's movement. It is the drag that is not associated with the production of lift. Parasite drag includes induced drag, skin...
