Name all the simple formulas (the cells are A1 and A2) =A1+A2 =A1*A2 =A1/A2 =A1-A2
Name all function formulas (the cells are A1 and A2) =average(A1:A2) =max(A1:A2) =min(A1:A2) =sum(A1:A2)
What are the definitions of a column, row, labels, values, and formula? FORMULA - A calculation set up in the spreadsheet COLUMN - Vertical line down the spreadsheet - uses numbers as its reference ROW - The horizontal line across the spreadsheet - uses letters as its reference VALUE - Anything on the spreadsheet that uses number or currency LABELS - Usually a text label describing information on a spreadsheet e.g Title, description label
What is B12? (for example) A cell
What is a cell? An individual box on a spreadsheet
What is an active cell? Where you are on the spreadsheet at any given time - has a bold box around it
What is a cell reference? It is an address where the row meets the column e.g A1
True or False? You start a formula or a function with an = sign? True
Say you are dividing something by a cell, and in that cell there is a 2 why is the formula =B12/2 bad? Because if you change the number you are dividing by to 3 in the cell the answer will not change as well
Why could you use the formula =B12*$B$4 ever? Because this means that if you have a lot of cells you want to multiply by cell B4 and you want to drag it down, it will always multiply by the cell B4
What is Absolute reference? when you use the dollar sign ($) in a function or a formula (the previous flash card is an example)
if you have been working on spreadsheet and you want to save it quickly what would you do? Click the blue floppy disk icon at the top of the screen
What is the add, subtract, multiply and divide cymbal for a spreadsheet? + is the add cymbal - is the subtract cymbal * is the multiply cymbal / is the divide cymbal
turn the card for an example of the IF function If a customer's total bill is over £100, deduct 10% from their bill then, the formula in Excel would be (and example of the cell with the customer'sbill in it is A10) IF(A10>100,"Deduct 10%","No discount)
What are column AND bar charts good for? a - good for nothing b - comparing different groups of data c - comparing similar data with each other b - comparing different groups of data
What are pie charts good for? a - comparing data proportionally against one b - comparing similar data with each other c - comparing the correlation between sets of data a - comparing data proportionally against one
what are line graphs good for? a - good for nothing b - comparing changes over time c - comparing the correlation between sets of data b - comparing changes over time
What are scatter graphs good for? a - comparing data proportionally against one b - comparing similar data with each other c - comparing the correlation between sets of data c - comparing the correlation between sets of data
What are radar graphs good for? a - comparing similar data with each other b - comparing data proportionally c - comparing different groups of data a - comparing similar data with each other
