What arguments were presented against Darwins' theory of evolution? The earth was thought to be much to young for Darwins' theory (approx. 19 million years). Structures as complex as the eye could not just appear but had to be designed by a creator. Too many missing fossil intermediates to prove gradual changes.
What bones make up the axial/apendicular skeleton and what purpose do they serve? axial - protects vital organs apendicular - locomotion and muscle scaffolding.
Why can mitochondria synthesize their own proteins? They contain their own DNA, RNA and Ribosomes (there is a theory that they originated as separate organisms to us).
