This would be useful because they could then tell when a storm was coming or other dangerous hazards.

How is amplitude related to energy? Amplitude is related to energy because the higher the energy the higher the amplitude.
How are longitudinal waves measured? Longitudinal waves wavelengths are measured by the distances between compressions.
