ACID RAIN
Acid rain is any type of precipitation with a high concentration of sulfuric acid and nitric acid, Not only is it the liquid rain that we know of, but it is also found in snow, fog, hail, dew, mist and suspended particles that end up in the ground.
EFFECTS
Acid rain causes negative consequences on ecosystems and on the environment:
The damage it causes to people is mainly indirect through the consumption of fish and water contaminated by acid rain.
Changes in Fish Populations
Lake Sediments
The increased acidity of the waters of rivers and lakes can cause disturbances in aquatic life since some species of plants and animals fail to adapt to the new conditions to survive in the acidity of the water
Consequently, changes in these faunal assemblages can be used to detect changes in water quality.
Causes
By burning coal, oil, grass, it releases nitrous oxides and sulfur dioxide mixes with the clouds, the rain that falls is slightly acidic
