BPM methodology
Qué es BPM
Why implement the process management system
Advantages of implementing BPM
BPM (Business Process Management) is a work methodology used by both large companies and SMEs. This process management system is responsible for controlling the modeling, visibility and management of the company's production processes.
as they are:
BMP implies adopting a series of steps or actions that modify the way the company works with the aim of improving processes and facilitating collaboration with a focus on the client.
Por eso es que:
This working method emerged in the 1980s from the production model used by the Japanese company Toyota. With the passage of time and the appearance of international standards of good practices and quality, this system based on process management was consolidated.
Optimizing processes, improving efficiency, facilitating decision-making and, ultimately, being more competitive, are the main reasons why companies should implement BPM.
When a business restructuring occurs (expansion, absorption or collaboration) the BPM methodology is used to be able to adequately coordinate the processes and departments of the different organizations.
Many companies start using BPM when they want to achieve a certification and need to optimize their processes in order to meet the requirements required by it.
Run BPM
The main benefits obtained by implementing a process management system are:
Improve customer service. Improves the competitiveness of the company (reduces the time taken for decision-making, improves efficiency and agility, and increases productivity). Improve the quality of the products and services offered. Minimizes the time of access to information (documentation, applications and databases). Increases the number of activities executed simultaneously. Reduces communication time between activities, people and processes. It involves the staff (motivation, collaboration and participation in the processes). It speeds up data output (emails, SMS, and all kinds of outgoing communication). It provides mechanisms for better management and optimization of processes.
Definition of actions. All those processes to be carried out are defined as events, activities, sub-processes and their participants. Appropriate metrics and KPIs are also selected for measurement, control and evaluation.
Automate processes. Using execution engines (workflow) the data models, forms and business rules are defined.
Integration and deployment. In this phase, the BPM tool must be integrated with the different applications that the company uses to carry out its processes. Once the integration is complete, the business process is deployed (assigning roles and permissions, defining the number of users for each process, etc.).
Process monitoring. In this phase, the entire process is monitored, making use of metrics and KPIs to evaluate the results and take corrective measures in the event of deviations or errors.
