  1. SOFTWARE TESTING

  2. Unit testing is one of the many software testing options

available and it has been praised for the large number of defects that are

    identified when it is used.

  3. WHITE-BOX TESTING

  4. ERROR-BASED TESTING

  5. SCENARIO BASED EVALUATION

  6. UNIT TESTING

  7. BENEFITS

  8. Problems are discovered early, Integration testing is

easier, acts as documentation of the system and extremely accurate unit

    test coverage.

  9. DRAWBACKS

  10. Time consuming, does not show absence of errors, hard to set

up realistic, useful tests and integration errors or system errors can be

    missed.

  11. White box testing, also known as structural testing or code-based testing, is a methodology which ensures and validates a software applications mechanisms.

  12. ADVANTAGES

  13. The advantages of white box testing include thoroughness,

    automation, time, optimization, and introspections.

  14. DISADVANTAGES

  15. The disadvantages to white-box testing include its cost,

rapidly changing code, and missed cases.

  16. Testing where information about programming style, error-prone language constructs, and other programming

  17. STRENGTHS AND

    WEAKNESSES

  18. The strengths and weaknesses of error-based versus more

methodological methods are compared using three underlying assumptions called

the faith, coincidence and hindsight effects.

  19. To evaluate a particular quality attribute of an

architecture, a set of scenarios is developed that concretes the real meaning

    of the attribute.

  20. Scenarios can be used to evaluate the number of changes

needed to adapt the architecture and the system corresponding to the new

    situation.
