Construction types

1. Type I

   • Reinforced concrete
   • Fire Resistive/highest protection
   • Resist fire for 3-4 hours
   • Precast concrete
   • Protected Steel frame

2. Type 2

   • Non-combustible/Limited
   • 1 to 2 hour
   • More prone to collapse

3. Type III

   • Also called Ordinary construction
   • Exterior walls/structural member are non-combustible
   • Have voids in the wall
   • 1 Hour Structural Frame

4. Type IV

   • Also called Heavy Timber
   • All wooden members must have 8" dimensions
     • 2 hour Exterior Wall
       • 1 hour Structural Frame

5. Type V

   • 1 Hour Exterior Wall
   • ! Hour Structural Frame
   • Also called Wood frame
   • Exterior load bearing wall are made of wood
