SOLAR ENERGY
- Solar energy is a renewable energy obtained from the electromagnetic radiation of the Sun. It is a renewable energy because it is obtained from a natural and inexhaustible source, in this case the Sun.
- WHERE DOES IT COME FROM?
- Solar energy can be captured through photoelectric cells, heliostats or solar collectors, which later transform it into solar thermal energy or photovoltaic solar energy.
- Benefits
- It has less impact on the environment. Although other renewables are also inexhaustible and without waste, the impact of solar is less. For example, wind turbines have a negative impact on birds, as do hydraulic installations on fish in rivers. This does not happen with solar installations.
- It is reusable. One of the problems with renewable energies is that they are irregular (they depend on the wind blowing, the river going down, the tide rising or the sun shining). But thanks to technological progress, it is now possible to store solar energy to transform it into electricity on demand, or to take advantage of the surpluses generated.
- Most common uses
- Transportation -Electricity - Pool heating -Heating -Hot water - Irrigation of Plantations - Illumination
- Products Made
- Solar energy is obtained from solar radiation that reaches the earth in the form of light, heat or ultraviolet rays and that is captured by solar panels. This energy is clean and renewable. Its source is the sun, so we can consider it an unlimited resource. Today, it is one of the most promising energy sources there is, along with wind energy, and little by little it is displacing fossil fuel plants and nuclear energy.
