    • Depending on the technique used to make string vibrate, we distinguish:

        • The sound is produced when the strings are rubbed with a bow.
          • Violin
            • The smallest one with highest pitch
          • Viola
            • Bigger than the violin, medium-pitch
          • Violoncello
            • Bigger and with lower register. The instrument is leaned on the floor and you play it sitting down
      • PLUCKED STRING
        • The sound is produced when the strings are plucked with the fingers or a plectrum
          • Harp
            • It has 47 strings, arraged from short to long
          • Guitar
            • It has 6 rings and a neck with frets to indicate semitone distances on the strings.
      • STRUCK STRING
        • The strings are struck or hit with a hammer triggered with a keyboard.
          • Piano
            • It has 88 keys which cover more than seven octaves. It is regarded as the king of musice because its wide register and its expressive possibilities. There are two types of pianos: The vertical piano and the grand piano.
              • All pianos have two pedals
                • Soft pedal: On the left, wich make hammers hit the strings softer.
                • Damper pedal: On the right, it raises all the dampers so that the strings can continue to vibrate when the keys have been released.
