1. who you are and who you socialise with can play a part in creating your identity

   • we learn norms and values from the family

2. primary socialisation

   • the child learns from immediate family at home. the child adopts the culture of family and friends and learns the expectations the family has of them

3. Secondary Socialisation

   • Takes place outside the home. Learn the expectation of wider society, through agents of socialisation such as school, the mass media, peer groups, work and religion

4. School years

   • We make friends and share actives
     • Share similar norms of behaviours that other peers have
