- Advantages and Disadvantages
- Advantages
- Can work for longperiods on battery and for ever on AC electric
- Is relaible
- Cheaper than maual labour
- Faster work
- Precise

- Uses
CNC Machinary
- What is CNC used for in Engineering
- Pnumatic wepon ejection systems
- Automotive: Car prototypes
- Automotive: car door handle
- Aerospace: Engine turbine plate
- Chemical: Pipe transportation valves
- Biomedical: Protective guards (Plastic)
- Automotive: Car wheel bearing manufacture
- Electronic: Wire Line
- Making of cirict boards and ciricuits
- Advantages and Disadvantages
- Advantages
- CNC machines can be used continually 24/7 and only need to be switched off for occasional maintainance.
- CNC machines are programmed with a design which can be continually used for ever making products which are identical
- Less skilled or trained people can operate CNCs unlike manual lathes or milling machines which need skilled engineers.
- CNC machines are cheaper when up and running than employing a machinist
- Disadvatages
- CNC machines are more expensive to purchase than maually operated machines
- The CNC machine operator only gets basic training which can eman some faults being caused with the product because of the inexperience
- Many contries no longer teach tradition techniques becuase of electronic techinques meaning there is a lack or machanical engineers.
- Electricity and running coss are high
- Advantages
- What is CNC used for in Engineering
Materials
- Cars
- Sport
- Light Matirial such as Carbon Fibre
- More Standard
- Steel or Aluminium
- Sport
- Mild Steel
- Quite Cheap compared to some matirials but also heavy
- Bikes
- Titanium, Aluminium, Carbon Fibre, Mild Steel
- Cars
Fibre Optics
- Data Transfer
- Broadband
- Quicker than Dial Up
- Data Transfer
Hydrogen Fuel Cells
- Good for use in cars
- Alternitive to standard Petrol or other fuels
- only release water
Telematics
- communication
- revolutionary communication
Bionics
- New Limbs
- For people in the army who may have lost limbs in a battle or fight
- Or for people who may have had accidents or been born without limbs
- New Limbs
Sustainability
- Recyclable matirials
- Renuable sources
- Don't break Down
- A broom is more sustainable than a hoover
Four R's
- Reduce
- Definition
- Minimise the amount if matirial and energy you use
- How to Help
- Chang production techniques to make less waste
- Definition
- Reuse
- To recycle items and use them again fro the same or a different perpose
- Recycle
- This is when you sue the matirials to make osmething else
- Recover
- Finding ways to save or reuse energy in a manufacturing process
- All about Sustainability
- What is more sustainability, A broom or a hoover?
- The broom because it needs less maintainance because it has less moving parts na wood is a renuable matirial.
- What is more sustainability, A broom or a hoover?
- Reduce
