Analysis of lifecycle

  1. Production

    • In the uk
      • High labour costs due to fair wage and expensive cost of materials.
    • Overseas
      • Cheap labour costs meanaing cost of production will be lowered
        • Un-ethical as staff will not be recieving a fair wage.
  2. Sales

    • The product will be sold in camping shops and online as the flow of customers will be greater.
    • The product can be advertised online and through social media such as facebook through advertisements directed towards the target audience.
  3. Recycling

    • The actual product will have aspects that can be recycled such as the wooden casing and the carboard packaging which will be used to protect the product in transport.
      • Some aspects however will not be recyclable such as the battery's inside the product which will have to be disposed of.
  4. Distrubution

    • My product will be distributed through retailers in order to gain a larger amount of sales.
      • Cheaper way of distributing the product through selling at a retail price and allowing retailers to upsell.
  5. Use

    • The lifecycle of this product will be long however as technology advances new versions of the product will have to be released to make it even smaller in size.
      • Over time the battery's may need replaces due to wear and tear as well as the capacity of the battery's deteriorating over time.
      • The main use of the product is to allow the user to access power where there is no available power source such as camping or at a festival.
  6. Materials used

    • There are many materials used in the making of my product. These range from the electrical components and the plastic plug sockets ect, to the wooden exterior of the product and wooden draw used to house the electrical components. The only other material used is the nails and fabric strap which is how the product is carried.
      • The plastic components and batterys have a negative impact on the environment as they cannot be widely recycled.
        • Plastic doesn't biodegrade
          • Hence negative impact on environment.
      • The wood used can be recycled and can be regrown sustainably.
