1. Informative function: Most programs through its activities have contents that provide information structuring reality to students. Like all teaching aids, these      materials can represent reality and sorted.

2. Instructive function. All educational programs can guide and regulate the knowledge of students and that explicitly or implicitly promote thereof certain actions aimed at facilitating the achievement of specific educational objectives.

3. Motivating Function. Generally students are attracted and interested throughout the educational software, programs can include elements to capture the attention of students, maintain their interest and, when necessary, to focus it more aspects important activities.

4. Evaluation function. The interaction of these materials ,can respond immediately to the actions of the students, makes them particularly suitable for evaluating the work you do while performing them.

5. Investigative function. The non-management programs, especially the bases data, simulators and builders programs can offer students interesting research environments: search for particular information, change the values of the variables of a system, etc.

6. Expressive Function: students can express and communicate with the computer and other peers through activities and programs, especially with used programming languages, text processors, graphics editors, etc..

7. Metalinguistic function. By using an operating system (MS / DOS WINDOWS) and programming languages (BASIC, LOGO ...) students can learn languages of computing.

8. Recreational function. Working with computers doing activities education is a task that can often have playful connotations and Festive for students.

9. Innovative function. Although not always their pedagogical approaches result innovative, educational programs can be considered teaching materials in this function because they use a recent technology incorporated into schools and, in general, tend allow many forms of use and the students can have a better form of learning.
