Equilibrium
  1. The state achieved when the forward and reaction rates occur simultaneously at the same rate and the concentration of the products and the reactants remains constant
    1. Le Chateliers Principle
      1. If factors affecting equilibrium are changed, equilibrium will shift in the direction that tends to cancel the effect of the change.
        1. Factors affecting equilibrium
          1. Concentration
            1. Increases in concentration = system tries to decrease it
              1. If forward reaction is favoured, conc. of products increases, conc. of reactants decreases
                1. If reverse reaction is favoured, conc. of reactants increases, conc. of products decreases
              2. Temperature
                1. Exothermic = Solution gains heat / Endothermic = Solution loses heat
                  1. If temp. decreases, system tries to increase, temp., exothermic reaction is favoured
                  2. Pressure
