1. Units

   • Wavelength= the distance from one peak to the next
   • Frequency= how many complete waves there are per second (F)
   • Amplitude= the height of the wave (rest to crest)
   • Speed (V for Velocity)= how fast the wave is going
   • Period= the time it takes for one wave to pass a certain point (T)

2. Waves

   • Transverse
     • The vibrations are at 90 degrees to the direction energy is transferred by the wave.
     • Light + EM waves are transverse
     • Slinky waving up and down
     • Waves on string
     • Ripples on water
   • Longitudinal
     • The vibrations are along the same direction as the wave transfers energy
     • Sound and ultrasound
     • Shock waves and some seismic waves
     • Slinks being pushed
