1. Flight Crew Seats

   • Must have seat belt with a shoulder harness
     • Upper body restrained in event of rapid decceleration
     • Single point release
     • Inertia reel
       • Moves around with normal operation
       • Locks with rapid movement
   • Mounted on a rail
   • Adjustable
   • Routine maintenance includes inspection of straps for damage or contamination, operation of inertia reel and correct locking of seat on rail

2. Passenger Seats

   • Passengers over two years old must have seat with at least a safety belt
   • Equipped with a lap belt
   • Has individual overhaul date
   • Normally equipped with reclining mechanism and folding table
   • If situated near an emergency exit, a solid tray will be under the seat to provide structural strength
   • Attached to the floor via special device
     • Engages into seat rail in the floor
   • Seat rail is primary structure
     • Inspect for corrosion
