1. IT TAKES is an expression. IT TAKES describes how much time is necessary to do acertain activity

   • AFFIRMATIVE SENTENCES
     • It takes four hours to get to Tokio
     • It takes two hours to get to New York
   • NEGATIVE SENTENCES
     • We make negative statements the same way as we do with most verbs -that is, by using DOES + NOT
       • It does not take five hours to get to Carl's house
       • It doesn't take six hours to get to Hogsmeade
   • INTERROGATIVE SENTENCES
     • We make interrogative sentences with it takes the same way as we do with most verbs -that is, using DOES
       • Does it take thirteen hours to get to Idris?
       • Does it take 40 minutes to bake a cake?
   • IT TAKES + PERSON
     • We can mention a person after IT TAKES to describe how much time that person needs to do a certain activity
       • How long does it take you to finish your homework, Will?
