1. Adjectives

   • Definition: A describing word - e.g - pretty, ugly, sexy
   • Example: "Tegan is very selfish" or "Harry is very sexy"
   • You use this when you are describing a place, a person or a thing.

2. Alliteration

   • Definition: words beginning with the same letter
   • Example: "Pretty pink princess" or "terrific tattoos"
   • You use this when you're explaining something, it makes your work/writing more effective.

3. Anectdote

   • Definition: A small personal story linking to the topic.
   • Example: I was an owl last year. It was a real hoot.
   • You use this when you're trying to describe something briefly.

4. Direct address

   • Definition: When you directly address someone in a speech or a piece of writing.
   • Example: Do you think this was the right thing to do?
   • Yu use this when you're trying to get the audience/readers attention as it makes them more involved in what you're saying and trying to put across.
