1. multiplying

   • multiply the numbers in the square root sign and then simplify

2. simplifying

   • you will find what times what will give you your number and then you square the number that isn't a prime number and then you keep doing that till you get a perfect square and then one of the numbers that made the perfect square on the inside and outside of the square root sign

3. Adding and subtracting

   • you have to add what is out side of the radical if the number being squared is the same. if they aren't the same you will find what times what will give you it and then you find a number that matches the other number getting squared and then the other number goes on the outside of it
