Physics P1

1. Creation of Universe

   • CMBR
     • Cosmic Microwave Background Radiation
   • Big Bang
   • Red Shift
     • Backed up by CMBR
     • The Universe is still expanding
     • Galaxies are moving further away

2. Light

   • Passing into a different medium
     • Bends towards the normal
     • Slows down
   • Telescopes
     • Reflecting
       • Clearly see further objects
       • Uses mirrors
     • Refracting
       • Use lenses

3. Electricity

   • Efficiency = The amount of energy that is converted to useful energy

4. Formulae

   • Wave speed = frequency x wavelength
   • Wave speed = distance/time
   • Electrical power = current x potential difference
   • Cost of electricity = power x time x cost of 1 kilowatt-hour
   • Power = energy used/time taken
   • Efficiency = useful energy transferred by the device/total energy supplied to the device
