The designing of a s/w involves the transformation of ideas into a much more detailed document with the goal of satisfying the requirements.

To transform these requirements into a working s/m,the designers must satisfy both the customers as well as the s/m builders.

The customers must understand what the s/m will do.

The s/m builders must understand how the /m is going to work.

First,a conceptual design is prepared for the customers which tells the customers what the s/m will do.If the customer is satisfied with that the design will be translated into a much more detailed document.

The technical design tells how the s/m will work which allows the s/m builders to understand the actual hardware and s/w requirements needed to solve the customers problem.
