"A Red, Red Rose" by Robert Burns: He was a pre-romantic author. There was a break with the neoclassical style.
-Belief in the goodness of men by nature, so, we assume that the civilization corrupted men.
-This poem was a lyrical poem, with clear stanzas formed by quatrains (iambic tetrameter combined with iambic trimeter). This poem was writting to be sing, and to express the feelings of a poetic voice (it doesn't implie that this poetic voice was the author). The addresee was the poetic voice, on this case a man who is in love of a girl, and the addresseer was the girl. The elevated language doesn't exist and now, the language is poetic, but easy to understand.
-To make the poem, the author uses alliterations, hyperbathon, simple rhymes and the repetition of a sentence or the rhyme cause a refrain
-The rose is a symbol of passion, beauty: a poetical emblem of beuty (the ephimeral beauty) about the brevity of time.
My love is like a red, red rose -Alliteration -In the first stanza is describing the lady. with a paralelistic structure.
