Student Guide to Learning
Methods for an Effective Study Plan
1. Be Realistic:Determine the number of hours you will have to study during the day and throughout the week.Be realistic and seek to balance your study routine with your social life and hobbies but also include time to
rest.
2.Understand your Routine: Choose the best time to study for you. Once you decide what works best for you,
stick with it. Get plenty of sleep as you need to be in tip top shape for effective study habits.
3. Organize your Time : Divide your study plan up according to the number of topics/subjects you need to havecovered before your exams. For example, if you have 8 subjects and you have 2 months before the exam then
study 2 subjects per day and assign a day of the week for general exercises and rest.
4. Keep it Interesting: Feel free to shake up your weekly plan if you feel it is becoming too boring. Whether thatmeans moving from a desk to study pod or getting up at an earlier or later time, don't be afraid to try out
different methods. Who knows what will work.

you, even your own notes can explain it to you but all

can't explain what you have learned to yourself. If you
don't understand a study concept that you need to
illustrate in an exam to get top exam results, then you
won't be happy with your end exam result. To combat
this, get into the habit of explaining whatever it is you
are studying, in your own words, so you understand
your study notes. The key to help improve your memory
is to understand what you've learned when you are
studying it. So don't just memorise and tick off the list – make sure you understand your theory.
Study Tip #2
Don't be afraid to ask study questions: Of course, depending on what you're studying, it may be quite
