Are harmful effects of human activity on the biophysical environment, Environmental problems, therefore, are setbacks or disturbances that occur in the natural environment.

Causes of an environmental problem

Effects of environmental problems

Ways to attack with the environmental problem

Deforestation. This is understood by the indiscriminate felling of forests and green areas to use their wood in various industries (paper, wood, etc.) or to allocate the soil to agricultural or livestock activities.

Global warming. The planet is getting hotter and hotter, at a much faster rate than it had in the past, and the logical person responsible for this is the human being. Most industrial activities, from livestock to the burning of fossil fuels, flood the atmosphere with carbon derivatives (carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide), which not only impoverish air quality, but also remain in the atmosphere, preventing the normal release of heat, and thus generating a greenhouse effect that is already melting the perpetual snows of the poles and raising the water level

Contamination. It refers to the adulteration of water, land or air by adding chemically reactive substances, capable of destroying ecosystems, making water unusable or generating diseases in both human beings and other forms of life. This problem is one of the most serious, as it also leads to destructive phenomena such as acid rain.

Biodiversity loss. The extinction of many species, due to the destruction of their habitat or its contamination, or the interference of humans in their food chains, leads to imbalances in the biological circuits that can become critical for the world.

Various types of contamination

Damage to health

Disappearance of the ozone layer

Air pollution: the emission of gases and burning of fuels are the main generators of this type of pollution that affects the air that living beings breathe.

Water pollution: it affects seas, rivers and lakes since the water contains high amounts of elements or toxic substances that make it unhealthy and do not allow its consumption or use

Soil contamination: it is produced by industrial waste, urban garbage, the use of pesticides, mining activity, among others.

Respiratory diseases (bronchitis, asthma, allergies, among others), Dermatological diseases, Cardiovascular diseases, Deaths and hygiene problems in areas where water is contaminated and they do not have access to drinking water, Disorders in the development of children and neurological damage, Deafness due to noise pollution, Genetic mutations, Various types of cancer.

The ozone layer is made up of a gas that is present in the atmosphere and prevents ultraviolet (UV) rays from reaching the Earth's surface. However, high levels of contamination have caused its weakening and the appearance of a hole.

More responsible agriculture, Caring for forests, Responsible consumption of water, Less polluting, Reduce food waste, Use the land, Avoid the use of fuels, Responsible consumption of energy.
