Deliberate vs. Intuitive Styles
- Deliberate Decisions Style:
- This style makes a list of pros and cons
- They ask, "What does logic say?"
- Examples:
- Sherlock
- Spock
- Intuitive Decision Style:
- This style listens to the voice in their heads
- They ask, "What does your gut say?"
- Examples:
- Captain Kirk
- Thor
-
- People rate things higher if they can use their natural decision making style
- HOWEVER, there's a connection between mood and decision making style
- If a person is HAPPY and they use INTUITIVE decision making, they will rate the product higher in value
- if a person is SAD and they use DELIBERATE decision making, they will rate the product higher in value
- As a designer, you can control how a person feels and how what style they make a decision (don't let the power corrupt you)
