They are terms like "cousin" that can be displayed in many different ways in different cultures, although there are different ways of using Kinship Charts to establish relationships, in english if we use MZD or Mother's Sisters Daughter to refer to a cousin, the term in another language may mean something else entirely to describe cousin. It is used to create a better way for own cultures to express and display their own connections between kin.
