Christianity teaches that all life is a precious from God. Another way of saying this is to call life sanctified, and/or sacred (i.e. human life is associated with the /God). Every person is of worth to God, although a person may do something which is or worse than another person. It is also Christian belief that a human's , health or ability does not make the person more or less ; this is why the concept of the of life is so important in considering ethics.
The sanctity of life means that we should be treated with as an act of worship to God. Any of the human body, for example through the use of illegal drugs, goes completely against this religious teaching an is to believers. Christians believe that each person should God through their bodies and in the way that they live their , and that God not only gives life but he it and guides people in each situation they are in, if they have in him.

The vast majority of Christians are opposed to human reproductive cloning because by creating human life in a laboratory, particularly if it is for a purpose such as harvesting organs, we undermine the sanctity and dignity of human life. Also, it could be considered unnatural and so contrary to God's will and so morally wrong.

Catholics are firmly to any form of therapeutic cloning that uses stem cells harvested from an . This is because Catholics believe that life begins at and so harvesting stem cells from an embryo is equivalent to an act of and an insult to the sanctity of human life. "To create embryos with the intention of them, even with the intention of helping the sick, is completely incompatible with human ." However, Catholics have no issue with, and support, any form of cloning that doesn't harm the source of any stem cells used.
On this issue, Anglicans are not as strict as Catholics, being of therapeutic cloning that uses stem cells harvested from embryos when it is for the treatment of a ' condition', 'absolutely ' and 'once all other avenues have been explored'. This may have been justified by the Anglican teaching that an embryo doesn't have a right to life until it is days old and Jesus' teachings on love and ('Love thy neighbour as ' - Mark 12:).
