After WWI Italy was left in debt and unemployment was high.
Many poor people believed that a communistic system would work
In 1919 Mussolini founded the Fascist Party.
Fascism believed that dictatorship was necessary
Contrary to Communism Fascism believed that the wealth should not be shared.
In 1922 the fascists marched on Rome and demanded that Mussolini be made prime minister
The King agreed as he feared communism.
Mussolini given the title Il Duce
OVRA created as Mussolini's secred police
