• ~Tithings - a group of 10 meant, aged 12 or older who policed the village
• ~Hue and cry - Everyone in the village went out and shouted to bring attention to the criminal
• ~Wergild - a fine paid to the victim/their family
• ~Capital punishment - Punished by death
• ~ Corporal punishment - physical punishment
• ~Murdurm - Anglo Saxons had to pay a fine as a village for any norman murdered
• ~forest law - Introduced By the normans, all the forest land belonged to the king
