Question Answer
What was the Early Earth like in terms of activity? The early earth was constantly being bombarded with meteors and covered with active volcanoes. The atmosphere consists mainly of Carbon Dioxide and water vapour with small amounts of other gases.
Where did these gases come from? These gases probably came from volcanoes. If it had stayed this way Earth would have been inhospitable as conditions would be too harsh and severe for humans to live in.
So what made it how it is toda? As Earth's temperature started to cool, water vapour condensed forming oceans and the CO2 eventually started dissolving into the water and some was sedimented into fossils. This resulted in the creation of photosynthesising bacteria/plants which produced 02.
Process of sharing research: Scientists collaborate to share their ideas and check each other's results and methods. This is also called peer-reviewed journals. All new research must be peer reviewed to make sure it is valid, original and significant.
